This week have been a very interesting not only was it a short week but I learned that the meaning of the poems we have been working on had a much more different purpose than I thought. I originally thought it was about getting to know our fellow classmates but it wasn't it was more about learning about vivid details and working for a client. I learned many things about my client that I didn't really knew, like how he has a pet cat or how he he cares about his room, I learned its better to make the work on how the client views things/see than how you think he sees it. I mean its better to know them enough to the point where you can do the work through there eyes. The other part which is using vivid details is to using more specific description about the five senses that will get your attention. I learned something similar in 9th grade but it was sensory details. I want to use vivid details more the next time since I didn't use much of it, so I want to make my next work more vivid. While working the most useful part of it was when a fellow classmate told me about the format that we could of used, I completely forgot to get so I decide to make a different style that didn't worked out. This week has been more progressive than other weeks I had, hoping that next one is as good.
This is my second week of being a sophomore and it feels like I have been with this team for weeks. We had a Socratic seminar about whether or not students should have phones in there classroom, it reminded me of last year when Mrs.Sara made us had Socratic seminars over topic such as: Ferguson, Casa de Miedo stuff, etc. This week we started reading The Absolutely True Story of a Part-Time Indian and I got addicted to reading a book, this is impressive for me because I really don't like reading but this book got me addicted to read more. On Thursday we went to the 8th grade and had to critique students from my old teacher Ms.Staff, one thing I realized is I'm very bad a critiquing. I critique his writing piece but didn't say exact details, I have always been OK in helping someone out with there work but not the specific or good help. I'm hoping that next week will be more successful.
